This apple pie has been "in the making" for many, many years now. I've learned this from one person and that from another. I picked up this little tidbit (about pie making) from this website and read about that little tidbit in a cookbook. I can tell you that it's almost perfect! (Nothing is absolute, since tastes are different.) If you want to try and prove me wrong, take this recipe for a test drive yourself! I played with the idea of keeping it as "my family's secret recipe", but didn't want to deprive anyone this wonderful experience.

Ingredients: - 1 double-crust recipe
- 8-10 Jonathan apples, peeled, cored & sliced
- 2 TBS flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¾ C sugar
Directions: Preheat oven to 400°. Place bottom crust in deep pie dish. Mix together apples, flour, cinnamon & sugar until well coated. Spoon into pie crust. Place little dabs of butter evenly over apple mixture. Place top crust and crimp edges. My girls like to make little leaves out of the extra crust. Add those now if you like. Wet your finger with cold water and spread thin layer all over top crust. Sprinkle sugar. Bake in 400° oven for 15 minutes. Then, turn down to 350° and bake for another 40 minutes. I serve this with a scoop of vanilla bean or butter pecan ice cream. Delicious!

True to my nature, I also have a great apple pie recipe! I have gleaned wisdom from many people and made my own combination. This apple pie is filling, crunchy and soft all at the same time. The crust is the best part. I just know you're going to love it!

I found these neat little tart pans in the children's cooking section of our local "Mom & Pop" grocery store. I knew exactly what I could use them for. I used the tart recipe below for a little more sweetness and combined it with my apple pie filling. It is wonderful and gets made as often as I have extra apples!

One of my daughter's got a Paula Deen cookbook for Christmas. This cake was served to us by a friend though. When we realized that we already had the recipe for it, we made haste to try it out for ourselves. One tiny adjustment to the recipe (the flavor of pudding) and it is a great big hit! Our family loves this!
